Welcome to Akron
Not to be outdone by Cleveland and Cincinnati, Akron is a city on the move! Located to the northeastern region, Akron, Ohio is actually the 5th largest city in the state. For reference, Akron is about forty miles to the south of Cleveland. It is also the seat of Summit County. The history of Akron was heavily rooted in industry. Today, Akron is home to multiple colleges, such as the public research University of Akron where the school’s focus is on the highly lucrative fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The visitor attractions Akron has to offer include the Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Akron Zoo and the Akron Art Museum. You can enjoy the beauty of nature at the Ohio & Erie Canal by using the Towpath Trail. This trail is hospitable to bikers and hikers alike. So have fun!
The economy of Akron has retained its industrial roots. Companies like manufacturer The Timken Company and Goodyear Tire are headquartered there. Today, there are many small businesses and shops you can patronize as well, making Akron a well-rounded community for new residents to live, work and play.
These qualities make Akron attractive to prospective home buyers, but in this economy and with the rising interest rates, selling a home in the Akron market can be a bit challenging. You can always give us a call and let us take all of the complexity out of the process!
